Feb 17, Kathmandu- Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that he will not back down from the decision to pass the US aid project Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement.
This was stated by Prime Minister Deuba, who is also the President of the Nepali Congress, at the launch of the book 'A Brief History of the Nepali Congress' by Congress Central Member Arjun Narasimha KC at the PM's residence in Baluwatar today. He also said that Congress will not do one thing when it is in the opposition and another when it is in the government.
He said that the party has already decided to pass the MCC. He claimed that all the changes in Nepal were due to Congress and that the MCC would not be against the interest of the nation under any circumstances.
Similarly, General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Gagan Kumar Thapa, has said that the party will always stand firm on the fact that it believes in him. He said that the Nepali Congress has always been in favor of the MCC from the very beginning.
He scoffed at UCPN (Maoist) Central Committee Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) and said that there was no party Congress in Baluwatar and another in Khumaltar.
