Feb 18, Kathmandu- On the occasion of Democracy Day, President Bidya Devi Bhandari has announced to pardon 501 prisoners.

On the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, Bhandari has pardoned the remaining prisoners. Assistant Spokesperson of the President's Office Sagar Acharya Bhandari has announced the release of 501 prisoners including Phurba Sherpa.

Similarly, Bhandari has announced an amnesty for 12 more people on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, according to a statement issued by the President's Office.
