Feb 28, Kathmandu- CPN (Revolutionary Maoist) General Secretary Mohan Baidya Kiran has remarked that with the approval of the US Assistance Project (MCC) by the parliament, the parliamentary parties have proved to be a faithful puppet of the plan of American imperialism.

He issued a press statement today stating that the US had succeeded in bringing Nepal under the security umbrella after passing the MCC project. In a statement, he said, "Despite the nationwide protests of the patriotic Nepali people and the complete disagreement of some parliamentarians in favor of national independence, the MCC project under the US military strategy was launched by the House of Representatives of Nepal on the night of Falgun 15, 2078 amid various temptations. The majority has approved. This has paved the way for US imperialism to put Nepal under its security umbrella, to build a military base in Nepal to encircle China, and to exploit its precious national heritage.".

Baidya also accused the leaders of Nepal's parliamentary political parties of proving the US plan to entrap the country into a neo-colonial network by getting the MCC agreement approved by the parliament. Though he did not give his name, he termed Maoist Central Committee Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) and Madhav Nepal among others as opportunists.

Earlier, Baidya had reached Prachanda's residence in Khumaltar to discuss MCC approval. In that discussion, Prachanda had promised not to pass the MCC.
