Final Preparations For The Series Against UAE And Papua New Guinea

Mar 03, Kathmandu- Nepal is set to prepare for the triangular series against UAE and Papua New Guinea in Sri Lanka under the ICC Cricket World Cup League-2.

According to the Nepal Cricket Association (CAN), Nepal will prepare for a week in Sri Lanka. For that, the Nepali team will go to Sri Lanka in a few days.

During the preparation, Nepal will also play three practice games with the local team.

Currently, a 20-member Nepali team is preparing in the country. Before leaving for Sri Lanka, Nepal will announce the national team.

After practicing in Sri Lanka, Nepal will go to UAE from there.

In the three series, Nepal will play its first game against Papua New Guinea in Sharjah on March 16.

Nepal will play four ODIs in the series with both teams playing two matches each.

Nepal has played two series in League-2 so far. Nepal had competed with Oman and USA in the series held in Nepal two years ago.

Another similar series took place in Oman. In Oman, Nepal competed with the United States along with the home team.

In League-2, Nepal had won 4 out of 8 matches and lost in 4 matches. Nepal with 8 points is in the sixth position in the table.

In the top spot, Oman is at the top with 30 points from 23 games. Scotland, in second place, has added 16 points from 12 games.

The third-ranked United States has 14 points from 16 games and the fourth-ranked UAE has 12 points from 10 games.

Namibia is in fifth place with 10 points from 9 games.

Papua New Guinea, which is behind Nepal, has not been able to add points in 12 games.
