Nepali Congress Leaders Favor Poll Alliance

Mar 29, Kathmandu-  The official opinion of the Nepali Congress on whether to form an alliance in the local elections or not will be made public today. As most of them have already given their opinion in the Central Committee meeting held last Friday, today's meeting is to make public the official opinion about the alliance.

President Sher Bahadur Deuba who is also the PM is also in favor of the alliance. While Shekhar Koirala, the presidential candidate in the 14th General Convention, is going to the polls without any alliance, said spokesperson Prakash Sharan Mahat.

During the meeting, the leaders who went to the village presented details about the situation of the party. Some are in favor of the coalition while others have presented the details of winning the election alone in the meeting. However, most of the central representatives and central members are in favor of the alliance.

Informing that the meeting to be held on Tuesday at 3 o'clock will decide on how to present the party in the local elections, party Mahat said, "There is talk of maintaining the alliance in the central committee."  Most of the friends said that the party would win more seats as soon as it was coordinated.

There are also opinions that should be put to the test alone. However, a majority vote suggested a coalition between the two parties. It has been suggested that the situation of the party should be taken into consideration while forming an alliance.

As per the suggestion made in the meeting, a proposal will be prepared for taking a decision and it will be passed by the Central Committee meeting. ' Spokesperson Mahat claimed that the alliance was formed under special circumstances and as it was against the unconstitutional act of UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, there were many voices calling for its continuation.
