Actor Shah Senior Advocate Wagle Is Going To High Court Against Order of District Court Today

Mar 29, Kathmandu-  Actor Paul Shah who is in jail for trial in a case of rape of a minor singer is going to Pokhara High Court today to appeal against the detention order of Tanahun District Court. The High Court is appealing in Pokhara on Tuesday as the district court's order to send the accused to jail is not satisfactory.

According to a lawyer representing Paul's side senior advocate Kamal Mohan Wagle, he was preparing to go to the high court on Monday. "We could not go yesterday due to lack of time. We are going to the Pokhara High Court today to file an appeal, ”he said.

According to senior advocate Wagle, the complaint was lodged long after the incident. After a heated argument between Jaherwala and the defendant, the district court in Tanahu issued a restraining order to send Shah to jail for trial. In a single sitting of District Judge Harish Chandra Dhungana. Paul's manager Krishna Prasad Joshi has been released on bail of Rs 100,000.

After completing the investigation on 24 March at the District Police Office, Tanahu had submitted the report to the Public Prosecutor's Office at Tanahu. On the basis of the report, the government prosecutor's office had filed a case in the district court Tanahu on 21 March.


A complaint was lodged at the District Police Office, Tanahu on February 23 alleging that the singer had repeatedly performed the act by showing a false drama of Premam after getting acquainted with the singer during the shooting.

It is mentioned in the complaint filed by her parents that Shah had raped her for the last time after entering the room of the girl at the house of Pradip Thapa at Shuklagandaki Municipality-4, Dulegonda on April 27. Paul had surrendered his soul before the police on February 27.

Paul who is in police custody has been kept in Tanahu District Jail after the district court ordered him to be remanded in custody for trial. The Paul is in the B block of District Jail  Tanahu. There are 140 prisoners in B block with him. Block B has a capacity of 80 people. There are a total of 258 inmates including 13 women inmates in Tanahu Prison.

Narayan Adhikari, acting chief of Tanahu Prison, said that Paul was provided Rs 60 in cash and 700 grams of rice ration daily. Paul spends his days in prison reading books and visiting relatives.
