Private Sector Will Allowed Trade Electricity Even With The Help of Ordinance : Minister Bhusal

Apr 4, Kathmandu-  Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal has said that the private sector will be given a license to trade electricity even after bringing the ordinance. Speaking at the Himalayan Hydro Expo in Kathmandu on Monday, Minister Bhusal said that the government was committed to giving the license to the private sector even if it was an ordinance.

She said that even though the ministry had prepared rules and regulations for issuing licenses. They could not be given due to a lack of response. She said that the private sector would be given a license to trade electricity even though the ordinance method in case the parliament is not functioning properly.

"The government, my ministry, and I are all positive and committed to giving the license to the private sector, even if it is by law," she said. Minister Bhusal stressed the need to use electrical appliances for household purposes.

She said that hydropower should be taken as an alternative to petroleum products. She also said that the budget for the coming fiscal year will be addressed in a policy manner to increase the use of electronic devices.
