Apr 14, Kathmandu- Public transport fares have increased in Kathmandu Valley from today. The Bagmati state government had increased the fare of public transport with effect from the new year. As per the same decision of the state government, the new fare has been implemented from today.
Ministry of Transport had decided to increase the fare on March 8. As per the decision, passengers in Kathmandu Valley will have to pay Rs. 20 as soon as they board the vehicle. If the passenger has to travel a distance of up to 5 kilometers, he has to pay the fare.
Similarly, for a distance of 10 kilometers, you have to pay 25 rupees, for a distance of 15 kilometers you have to pay 30 rupees, for a distance of 20 kilometers you have to pay 33 rupees, and for more than 20 kilometers you have to pay 38 rupees.
As the price of petroleum products rises globally, the price of petroleum products is also rising in Nepal. As a result, public transport fares have risen for the second time in six months. Earlier, the government had increased the rent with effect from November 10.
