‘C’ Division League Begins, Mahabir Wins Inaugural Game

Apr 22, Kathmandu- Martyr's Memorial 'C' Division League Football has started today (Friday). The 'C' division, which was shifted to 10 days by the Nepal Football Association (ANFA) due to technical reasons, has started today.

ANFA was preparing to conduct the competition from April 11. However, the league was moved after ANFA did not pay the first installment to the participating clubs as preparation expenses.

Fourteen clubs will play in the 'C' division. On the first day, Sports Academy Sanga and Mahabir Club will meet on Friday. In the inaugural match played at ANFA Complex, Satdobato, Sports Academy lost 2-1 to Mahabir.

Suraj Tharu and Roman Tamang scored in Mahavir's victory. Meanwhile, Sajan Shrestha of Sports Academy scored a goal.

Sports Academy took the lead in the game. Sajan scored in the 28th minute of the match. However, the sports academy could not maintain that lead.

Mahabir returned to the game in the 55th minute. Suraj scored for him from the penalty spot. With just a few minutes left in the game, Rom scored to give Mahabir a 2–1 victory.

Mahabir has added 3 points with the victory. Meanwhile, Sports Academy started the competition in defeat.
