Apr 27, Kathmandu- Mayor of Biratnagar Metropolitan City Bhim Parajuli, who is also a Nepali Congress leader, has resigned from his post. Mayor Parajuli resigned on Wednesday, saying he should be an active participant in local elections.

"I am also a central member of the Nepali Congress. As I have to participate in the party's election propaganda and various election-related activities in the upcoming election, I have resigned from the post with effect from 27 April, as it is not considered appropriate to remain in the current post on the basis of morality", It is said in Parajuli's resignation letter.
