T20 Series: Nepal's Victory Over Zimbabwe In The Third And Final Match

May 4, Kathmandu- Nepali cricket team has won the third and final match of the T20 series against Zimbabwe 'A'.

Nepal beat Zimbabwe 'A' by 8 wickets in the third match played at the Tribhuvan International Cricket Stadium in Kirtipur. Nepal reached the target in 15 overs with five balls to spare. Openers Kushal Bhurtel and Asif Sheikh performed well and Nepal emerged victorious with 25 balls to spare.

For Nepal, opener Sheikh scored 87 runs off 54 balls with the help of 13 fours and a six. Bhurtel played 26 balls and scored 34 runs with the help of 2 fours and 2 sixes. Basir Ahmed added 10 runs. Earlier, after losing the toss and opting to bat, Zimbabwe scored 136 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the stipulated overs.

Roy Kaia top-scored with 49 off 41 balls. Marumani scored 27, Luke 23 and Innocent Kaia 14 runs. On the bowling side, Nepal's captain Sandeep Lamichhane took two wickets and Basir Ahmed and Sompal Kami took one wicket each.

Nepal lost the first match by 6 wickets while the second match of the series was postponed due to heavy rain. Nepal is currently training with Zimbabwe 'A' at home in preparation for the tri-nation ODI series to be held in the United States under the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2.

Nepal, USA and Oman are in the tri-nation series to be held in the United States from 6th of June to 16th of June.
