May 6, Kathmandu- There are 34 vacancies in various subjects in the open competitive examination of the general level conducted by the Teachers Service Commission. The quota has become vacant as not a single one of the participants has passed the examination.
Out of the vacancies, the highest number of vacancies (29) are in Madhesh. There are many failures in science and Nepali subjects. Another examination for the vacant quota is set to be conducted.
In Madhesh, applications were called for 32 teachers of Nepali subjects but only 26 passed. In the same state, out of 17 teachers who appeared for the mathematics exam, 15 passed. According to Sudarshan Marhattha, Information Officer of the Teachers' Service Commission, only seven out of the 22 who appeared for science have passed in Madhesh.
