Sandhikharka Budget: Electricity Tariff Of Marginalized Community Will Be Paid By Municipality

Jun 25,  Kathmandu- The Sandhikharka Municipality has allocated a budget of Rs. 1.116 billion for the coming fiscal year 2079/08. Mayor Krishna Prasad Shrestha informed that the same amount has been allocated from the 11th Municipal Assembly of the municipality.

Similarly, Shrestha said that the municipality will pay the electricity tariff of all the households in the marginalized community who consume less than 20 units in the minimum electricity tariff in the policy and program of the municipality. Mayor Shrestha even said that the municipality will pay 60 percent of the cost of community lifting drinking water and provide Rs 50,000 assistance to each family in case of death of a municipal employee or teacher who receives salary and allowance from the state treasury for any reason.

The budget has been brought by including a 75 percent subsidy to provide health insurance to the members of the family who do not receive regular salary and pension from the single men and women under 70 years of age within the municipality.

A budget of 104.2 million has been allocated to economic development, 613.8 million to social development, 279 million to infrastructure development, Rs 11.3 million for forest environment and disaster management, and Rs 108.09 million for good governance and institutional development, said Narayan Aryal, chief administrative officer of the municipality.
