Jul 3, Kathmandu- The passport department has requested those who want to get a passport to apply from the concerned district administration office. Claiming that the process of distributing passports is fast now, the department has requested all the district administration offices to apply from the concerned districts as they are assured of getting the passports within 15 days.

Recently, the department has claimed that passports are being distributed in 2-3 days in Kathmandu Valley and surrounding districts and in other districts within 10 to 15 days.

In a press release issued on Sunday, the department said that it is working to distribute passports daily from 9 am to 6 pm. The department has stated that it is currently producing more than 6,500 passports daily. Out of them, more than 2,400 people have applied for passports daily in the department alone.

According to the department, there is no such problem as the passport is not available even within 2-3 months of application and it has been distributed within 15 days of applying to all the district administration offices.

According to the department, the district administration office has made arrangements to print the application and send it to the concerned district within a week. The department has said that the process of distribution of passports is simple and easy and has asked to apply for the passport from the concerned district administration office except in case of emergency.

The department has made arrangements for the distribution of passports through all the district administration offices including the department and 17 area administration offices.
