Jul 3, Kathmandu: Hundreds of locals have worked for water supply at Pakuwakhola in Dharan-20 under the leadership of Dharan Sub-metropolitan Mayor Hark Sampang.
According to the pre-determined plan, they are assigned to reach the river every Saturday and carry stones to the source of drinking water and make an 'intake'. Tree planting has also been done in the same area on Saturday. Around 250 different species of fruits and bamboo plants have been planted in the Pakuwakhola area.
Lately, there has been a problem with the water supply in Dharan. Mayor Sampang has given high priority to finding sources of water supply to solve the water supply shortage. He informed that an intake is being made for the collection of Pakuwakhola water. He has been paying attention to water supply management since he was elected mayor independently by raising the issue of water supply.
