Six Different Education Bills Been Drafted

Jul 3, Kathmandu- The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has drafted six bills related to education, including the Federal Education Act.

The long-awaited draft of the Federal Education Act has been amended and the opinion has reached the Ministry of Finance for consultation. Along with the draft act, a bill has also been drafted on the umbrella bill related to higher education, the technical education bill, the integrated health science academy, and the national qualification draft.

The Federal Education Act provides for the adjustment of some subjects in the Free and Compulsory Education Act and the Education Service Commission Act and the National Examination Board Act. The Federal Education Act will also address the criteria, principles, and philosophy of the Teacher Service Commission, the clear role of the three-tier government in education management, and the hierarchical system of teachers.

Ministry spokesperson Deepak Sharma said the bills were under consultation and were expected to be tabled in the federal parliament as soon as possible. The Education and Health Committee of the House of Representatives had earlier directed to bring the Federal Education Bill to the House soon.
