Authority Warns Not To Use Microwave Frequency Without Approval

Jul 4, Kathmandu- The Nepal Telecommunications Authority, the regulatory body, has warned against using microwave frequencies without approval. In a public notice issued on Sunday, the authority warned that action would be taken if it was found that the L6 GHz frequency was used without permission.

"It is understood that various individuals and entities may use the microwave frequency of the L6 GHz (5.925 GHz to 6.425 GHz) band used in telecommunications services without the approval of the Authority", the notice issued by the authority states, "All concerned are advised not to use such frequencies without approval".

NEA has also stated that action will be taken as per the Telecommunications Act, 2053 BS if it is found that the frequency used in telecommunication services has been used illegally without obtaining permission.
