Man Arrested For Smuggling Gold Sewing In Child's Clothes

Jul 4, Kathmandu- A person has been arrested on the charge of smuggling gold from Tribhuvan International Airport.

While checking the luggage of a passenger who came to Kathmandu from Dubai, police recovered gold from five single-piece clothes of children, police said. It has been found that the stitches on the clothes of the minor carried by the passenger were made of gold. Police said that 60 gold rings were found and the seized gold weighed about 125 grams.

Suman Damai is arrested for the case. He had gone to Dubai on a visit visa. On his way back to Nepal after not getting the opportunity to work there, an unidentified person at the Dubai airport requested that the clothes be delivered to Nepal as a gift for a relative's child.

After finding him smuggling gold in such a way, he was arrested by the customs. According to the customs office, work is underway to find out whether only Suman is involved or others too.
