Jul 12, Kathmandu: Mukunda Rijal has been elected as the ward chairman of Kathmandu Metropolitan 16. Rijal who has become a candidate from the Nepali Congress has been elected as the ward chairman for the second term.

Earlier, Rijal who had won the local level election in 2017 AD had been active in the development work. After being elected for the second term, Rijal has expressed his commitment to start a new job in the coming days, including the work that was not completed in the previous term. Rijal who became popular for his exemplary work has been elected as the ward chairman for another term.
Speaking on the Headline Nepal Bishesh program with Presenter Sanjeeb Regmi, he said Chief of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balendra Shah (Balen) has started discussions with the ward chairpersons with the objective of making the work of the metropolis easier.
Chief Shah who visited his house in Balaju had sought suggestions on waste management and metropolitan activities. He said he was impressed by Rijal's work style and hoped for continued support. He also added we have proposed to spend on development works by cutting the services of the people's representatives.
At the fifth meeting of the municipal executive committee held I said that the people's representatives have come to serve the people instead of taking jobs. I urge the people's representatives not to take services. We have come to serve the people, not to get jobs. At an annual rate of Rs 60 million, Rs 300 million is spent on allowances in five years. If possible, let's spend it on the development of our services. '
He expressed dissatisfaction with the government over waste management. Why is the stress of waste management in the government's national pride project only on the people's representatives? "Is the garbage ours or the state's?" If it is a project of pride of the Government of Nepal, why only Kathmandu Metropolitan City is responsible for waste management? This is the responsibility of the ministry.
We don't always stress the people's representatives. We will work freely. He proposed to manage the garbage of only 32 metropolises and not the entire district if the metropolis is to do it. "We go to people's houses and pick up garbage. The responsibility has not been given to the metropolitan ward. But the blame is on the ward and metropolitan.
