School Building Constructed At Sindhuli With Indian Grants Inaugurated

Jul 19, Kathmandu:  The educational building built for Sindhuli Community Technical Institute located in Kamalamai Municipality-6 of Sindhuli district was inaugurated today. Second Secretary of the Indian Embassy Prashant Kumar Sona and Sindhuli District Coordination Committee Chief Karsang Lama inaugurated the building.

It is said that the building was constructed as a community development project with the financial support of the Government of India under the India-Nepal Development Cooperation Program at a cost of 44.1 million.  This project is one of the 75 projects to be inaugurated in Nepal this year as part of the 'Bharat @ 75Azadi Amrit Mahotsav' initiated by the Government of India to celebrate the 75th year of India's independence. Sindhuli Community Technical Institute was established in 2014.

As a partner organization of the Technical Education and Vocational Training Council, the organization has been conducting civil engineering and agriculture (zoology) education at the graduate level in joint collaboration with the District Coordination Committee and Kamalamai Municipality.

Similarly, the institute is affiliated with Kathmandu University and has been conducting technical education, civil engineering, and information technology classes at the undergraduate level. More than 292 students are studying in the said institute out of which 30 percent are female students. It is said that the construction of the new structure with the help of the Government of India will provide a better educational environment for the students.

Since 2003, India has sent more than 527 high-impact community development projects to Nepal, and 470 projects have been completed in the seven provinces of Nepal in the fields of health, education, drinking water, connectivity, sanitation, and other public facilities. Among them, 4 are in the Sindhuli district and 103 are in Bagmati province.

India and Nepal have a multilateral and multilateral development partnership which reflects the closeness between the people of the two countries. The implementation of the said project reflects the continuous support provided by the Government of India to the efforts made by the Government of Nepal to develop infrastructure in priority areas including education.
