South Africa Beat England In First ODI

Jul  20, Kathmandu: South Africa beat England in the first ODI. South Africa won by 62 runs in last night's match at Chester Lee Street.

After winning the toss, South Africa batted first and scored 333 runs losing 5 wickets in the scheduled 50 overs. Having set a target of 334 runs for victory, the home team England was bowled out for 272 runs in 46 overs 5 balls. His Joy Root scored the highest 86 runs.

England all-rounder Ben Stokes has announced his retirement from ODI cricket with this match. He scored only 5 runs in this match. Earlier, South Africa scored 333 runs after Rassi van der Dusen of South Africa scored a century of 133 runs.

This is his third performance in ODI cricket and his highest performance at the international level. England's Liam Livingstone took the most two wickets.

Sam Karan, Bidon Kars, and Moeen Ali took one wicket each. With the win, South Africa has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. The second ODI will be played on Friday and the third ODI will be played on Sunday.
