Aug 3, Kathmandu: The salaries and facilities of the officers and members of the Sudurpaschim Provincial Assembly will be increased.

The way to increase their salaries and service facilities has been opened with the passing of (Bill 2022) AD to amend the Act( 2018 AD) on the remuneration and facilities of the officials and members of the Provincial Assembly" from the Provincial Assembly meeting on Wednesday.

Speaker Arjun Bahadur Thapa informed that the bill was passed by a majority. Interior Affairs and Law Minister Ran Bahadur Rawal submitted a proposal for the passage of the bill in the assembly.

The opposition parties disagreed with the bill saying that adding facilities to the deputy leader, chief whip, whip and members of the provincial assembly would increase the financial burden of the provincial government.
