Aug 5, Kathmandu: It has been agreed between the five-party power coalition to coordinate the election of members of the House of Representatives(HoR) and members of the Provincial Assembly to be held on November 20.
The agreement was reached by the power coalition meeting held at the Prime Minister's Residence Baluwatar on Friday under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister and Chairman of the Nepali Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba.
In a joint statement issued by Prime Minister Deuba, Chairman of CPN Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Chairman of CPN Unified Samajwadi Party Madhav Kumar Nepal, Chairman of Janata Samajwadi Party Upendra Yadav, and Chairman of Rashtriya Jan Morcha Durga Poudel, the meeting will proceed with the election coordination between the five-party alliance in the elections of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly to be held on November 20. It is mentioned that the decision has been made.
Similarly, the coordinator of the five-party alliance coordination committee, Ramchandra Paudel informed us that there was an agreement between the five parties to finalize the seat distribution in the coming August. Coordinator Paudel also said that a working group has been formed so that all parties are represented to finalize seat distribution.
The government had fixed the date for the election of the members of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the members of the Provincial Assembly on November 20 only on Thursday. There are 165 seats in the House of Representatives and 330 in the Provincial Assembly.
