Aug 6, Kathmandu- One person has died after eating poisonous wild mushrooms in Salyan.

The deceased is Joshna Basnet, 4-year-old daughter of Dirgha Basnet, a resident of Sharda Municipality-4 Sailakamd of the district. District Police Office Salyan said that he died during his treatment at Provincial Hospital Kalagaon Surkhet. On Friday evening, the wife and children of the house of Dirgha Basnet fell ill after eating mushrooms brought from the forest.

According to the police, Basnet's 40-year-old wife Meena, 25-year-old daughter Pabitra, and 9-year-old son John Basnet are among the sick. Initially, after all the four people in the house fell ill, they were brought to District Hospital Salyan for treatment on Saturday morning.

As the patient's condition became complicated, Joshna and John were referred to Surkhet for further treatment. But while Joshna died during the treatment, it is said that John's health condition is improving.
