Gyanendra Preparing To Contest Parliamentary Election From Jumla

Aug 8, Kathmandu:  Rashtriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) spokesperson Gyan Bahadur Shahi (Gyanendra Shahi) has announced that he will contest the election as a member of the House of Representatives(HoR) from Jumla.Shahi is holding a press conference today at Arpan Party Palace in Thapagaun in Kathmandu to make a formal announcement of his candidacy in the upcoming parliamentary election.

According to him, Today at 2.30 pm, I am going to hold a press conference and give the official information that I will contest the election from Jumla. He said that party president Rajendra Lingden and other leaders will also participate in the press conference.

Gajendra Mahat 'Karma' of the Maoist Center was elected from Jumla which is the only constituency in 2017. Even now Naresh Bhandari, who has become the home minister of Mahat and Karnali provinces from Maoist is being talked about.

Shahi said that he was suggested by his supporters to contest the elections from Kathmandu 2 or Chitwan 3 but I have chosen native Jumla. Shahi is a resident of Ward Number 3 of Sinja Rural Municipality of Jumla. He said that since his birthplace is Jumla, he is preparing to contest the election from Jumla.

According to Shahi, RPP is very weak in Jumla. He said that according to the results of the last local level, RPP got only about 450 votes. In Shahi's ward, RPP has got 16 votes. Shahi, who came into the limelight for raising his voice against corruption and corruption used to identify himself as a social activist.

He had been doing activities through the 'Nepal for Nepali' campaign. He was expelled from Abhiyan on November 27, 2019. He entered the RPP on February 18, 2022 AD. Currently, he is a member of the Central Executive Committee of RPP. Shahi is also one of the five spokespersons of RPP.
