'Laal Singh Chaddha' And 'Raksha Bandhan' Opening 'Occupancy' Shocked Bollywood

Aug 11, Kathmandu- The two new films of the Bollywood star, 'Laal Singh Chaddha' and 'Raksha Bandhan', which were released on Thursday, are showing signs of poor opening.

The opening occupancy of both the films in the cinema halls of Nepal is not even 50 percent in the morning. According to Bollywood Hungama, the morning occupancy of Laal Singh Chaddha in India is 15 percent.

Aamir's earlier films used to open more than 20 crore rupees on the first day. But it is estimated that 'Laal Singh Chaddha' will open 10 crores.

Trade critics of Bollywood including Taran Adarsh, and Sumit Kandel have given the film a poor rating. Taran has given two ratings to the film, calling it disappointing. After halftime, Adarsh commented that the film was weak and lazy.

This film is a remake of the Tom Hanks starrer Hollywood film 'Forrest Gump' released in 1994.

The opening occupancy of 'Raksha Bandhan' is also lower than that of 'Laal Singh Chaddha'. However, the movie has received good reviews. Some critics have alleged that 'Raksha Bandhan' is also inspired by stale melodrama. Earlier Akshay's 'Samrat Prithviraj' and 'Bachchan Pandey' were also failures.

Daytime occupancy of both these films in Nepal is also around 50 percent. Although it is a star film, the audience's expected response has not been seen. The distributor bought the rights of 'Laal Singh Chaddha' for 20 million rupees.
