General Secretary Rai Is Responsible For Making Decisions About Al Mutairi

Aug 11, Kathmandu- The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has given the responsibility of General Secretary Kiran Rai to decide on the head coach Abdullah Al Mutairi.

The second meeting of the working committee held at the ANFA headquarters in Satdobato gave the task of deciding on the head coach Al Mutairi to General Secretary Rai in coordination with Qatar.

While they were preparing for the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, 10 players who were in training on 13th Baisakh 'rebelled' expressing dissatisfaction with the working style of the head coach Al Mutairi.

Among those who left the closed training were vice-captain Rohit Chand, Sujal Shrestha, Anant Tamang, Suman Lama, Bishal Rai, Bimal Ghartimar, Dinesh Rajwanshi, Vishal Shrestha, Tej Tamang, and Anjan Bista.

Captain and goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong, who supported 10 players, also missed the Asian Cup qualification. Almutairi was then dragged into the controversy.

According to the report prepared by the committee formed to investigate the dispute, it has been shown that the head coach Almutairi is also guilty. Similarly, the report recommended finding alternatives to Al Mutairi.

He is currently vacationing in Qatar. He will not be with the team for the upcoming friendly against Bangladesh at home in October. ANFA has already appointed Pradeep Humagai as the acting coach in his absence.
