Process For Purchase Of Chemical fertilizers Has Started: Home Minister Khand

Aug 13, Kathmandu- Home Minister Balkrishna Khand has said that giving priority to agricultural production, the government has allocated nearly Rs 16 billion as a subsidy for chemical fertilizers.

"Inaugurating the Purification constructed in Suddhodhan rural municipality-5 today, he clarified that the subsidy was allotted because the price of chemical fertilizers is high in the international market. The process for the purchase of chemical fertilizers has progressed.

"It is expensive for farmers to buy at the same price in the international market. As we are also the children of farmers, we are trying to ensure that the farmers do not have to face obstacles in production", he said.

He says that although fertilizers are imported in different forms, it is not enough. He expressed confidence that the problem will be resolved soon as he is currently in dialogue with various countries.
