National Assembly Eighth Session Will Begin Today

Sep1, Kathmandu: A meeting has been called for 4 pm on Thursday at the Federal Parliament Building, Baneshwor. Antigen tests were done on Wednesday for the chairman and members of the National Assembly who will participate in the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting today, the President will read out the letter of the President calling the meeting and the letter received from the President's Office regarding the reorganization of the Council of Ministers. Then there is the agenda for introducing various ordinances. In the meeting, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is likely to introduce the Constitutional Council (Works, Duties, Rights and Procedures) (First Amendment) Ordinance( 2020 AD) and Oath-related Ordinance(2021 AD).

Similarly, the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel, Nepal Citizenship (First Amendment) Ordinance (2021 AD) Commission for Investigation, Truth and Reconciliation of Disappeared Persons (Third Amendment) Ordinance (2020 AD), Nepal Police and State Police (Operation, Supervision and Coordination) (First Amendment) Ordinance (2021 AD), Social Security (First Amendment) Ordinance (2021 AD) and Acids and Other Hazardous Chemical Substances (Regulation) Ordinance (2021 AD) are on the agenda.

In addition, Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Leelanath Shrestha has an agenda to submit Ordinance (2021 AD) to amend some laws related to criminal offenses and criminal procedure, Ordinance (2021 AD) to amend some laws against sexual violence.

Similarly, Minister of Health and Population Krishna Gopal Shrestha has an agenda to submit Health Workers and Health Institutions Safety (First Amendment) Ordinance (2021 AD) Covid-19 Crisis Management Ordinance (2021 AD) and Medicines (Third Amendment) Ordinance (2021 AD).
