Road Maintenance And Cleaning Programs Has Begun As The Festival Is Approaching

Sept 24, Kathmandu- Aiselukharka Rural Municipality of Khotang has started road maintenance and cleaning as the festival is approaching. In view of the upcoming Dashain, Tihar and Chhath, the rural municipality has started the maintenance and cleaning of the roads that run between Diktel and Kathmandu. Girendra Bahadur Rai, Chairman of Aiselukharka Rural Municipality, said that road maintenance and cleaning has been started for food transportation, ambulance operation and easy movement during festivals.

The municipality has started to remove the landslides, stones and mud that fell on the road during the rainy season. Along with the main road connecting the rural municipality, the road connecting the 7 wards of the rural municipality is also being repaired. In some places excavator has been sent and in some places the village police are being mobilized and the roads are being repaired. Village chairman Rai himself is also involved in road maintenance. With the approach of festivals, the process of returning from the city to the village has increased.

"Residents of the municipality can travel to their homes easily," said village head Rai, "Road maintenance has been started with the aim of ensuring that ambulances can travel easily when there is an accident".

All the roads in the village are blocked due to heavy rains and landslides. Ambulance operations are facing the most difficulty due to road blockage.
