Sept 24, Kathmandu- British tennis star Emma Raducanu has been eliminated from the semi-finals of the Korea Open. Jelena Ostapenko, the top seed from Latvia, made it to the final after she withdrew from the semi-final match due to injury.

Raducanu won the first set by 6-4 and lost the second set by 6-3. When Ostapenko took a 3-0 lead in the third set, Raducanu could not continue the match due to a back injury.

The 19-year-old dropped from 10th place in the world rankings to 77th place after exiting in the first round of the US Open last month. Had she won the Korea Open, there was a chance she would have returned to the top 50.

After not being able to play, Raducanu also lost the opportunity to reach the finals of the regular WTA Tour tournament after last year's US Open.
