Oct 12, Kathmandu- CPN Ekata Rashtriya Abhiyan Party Chairman Bamdev Gautam has said that the purpose of both the ruling and opposition alliances is only to come to power.
In a press release, he said that the main political parties of the country have joined two alliances in the absence of principles, ideas, policies, plans and a clear blueprint for the country's development. He said that the highest objective of both alliances is nothing else than how to form a government under their own leadership. Gautam has mentioned that both alliances are against the political system of multi-party competition and the spirit of Nepal's constitution.
"It is clear that the activities of these two alliances have made a mockery of the letter and spirit of the Constitution of Nepal. In such a situation, our party cannot vote by supporting any party", he said. Gautam has also asked his workers, supporters and well-wishers to exercise discretion in voting. Before voting, he directed the people of the local level to lead the work of getting the concerned candidates to commit in writing to solve the problems related to the construction and development of the respective districts and regions.
He has asked the party leaders and workers not to fulfill personal interests or engage in any transactions and not to participate in celebration party. Gautam has commented that there is no justification for about 10 parties affiliated to the alliance to release their election manifestos to sway the voters, and they have not even been able to issue a common manifesto of the alliance.
Gautam, who is preparing to go to the polls after taking some seats from the ruling coalition, may have been displeased when things did not go as expected.
