The day of November 11 is also known as 11.11 Sales Day, which is a 24-hour day on the world's largest online shopping platform where various goods can be purchased at huge discounts. In foreign markets, consumers wait for this day to buy more special goods at a huge discount.

In the last few years, the practice of online shopping has also increased among Nepali consumers. Even in Nepal, online shopping platform Daraz is celebrating 11.11 Sales Day today, under which goods will be sold at huge discounts for 24 hours, according to the company.

The main attractions of Daraz 11.11 include discounts of up to 80 percent on 11 lakh items, Rs. 11,111 mega vouchers, 20 percent on pre-payment up to Rs. 3,000 discount, one rupee game, and 11 65-inch Mi TVs as mega giveaways, the company has informed.

11.11: Singles' Day

The most interesting aspect of 11.11 is this number itself. In fact, before 11.11 Sales Day, it started as Singles Day in China. In Chinese, 11.11 refers to a ware stick, a hollow stick, which is used to seduce unmarried men in China. Similarly, four 1 digits mean four unmarried people.

In 1993, students of Nanjing University started to celebrate November 11 as Singles Day as the day of singles. Since that year, unmarried people in China buy new things for themselves and given themselves gifts on this day. This Singles Day, which started in China, is celebrated all over the world today.

11.11: Sales Day After starting to celebrate Singles Day in China on November 11, special goods started to be bought and sold in the market for this day. Taking advantage of this, the online shopping platform Alibaba first launched 11.11 in 2009 as a festival for purchasing goods.

Once a year, from midnight on November 11, goods were sold online with huge discounts for 24 hours. People's attraction towards this day increased as sellers sold many goods and consumers started getting every item at a discount. This practice became so popular that today 11.11 Sales Day is celebrated worldwide.
