Nov 23, Kathmandu- Chen Song has been recommended as the Chinese ambassador to Nepal.
Song, who is also the Deputy Director General (DDG) of the Department of Asian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, was recommended this week.
Sources claim that Chen's name was recommended after President Xi Jinping returned from his visit to Indonesia last week.
Song is one of the five DDGs in the ministry. According to sources, China has already recommended Song's name and is preparing to send a letter to Nepal's Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Agrimo within a few days.
The Chinese ambassador to Nepal was vacant for the past two months. The Chinese ambassador was not recommended after Hou Yanqi was appointed as the ambassador to ASEAN after his four-year term.
