Why Direct Representation of Women Is Low?

Nov 26,Kathmandu: Most of the few female candidates nominated by major political parties in the House of Representatives(HoR) have been defeated. Since very few women are directly nominated, the percentage of victory is also low.

As of Friday, seven people from CPN (UML), CPN (Maoist Center), National Independent Party and Civil Liberties Party have been elected directly. So far not a single woman candidate has been elected from the Congress. The women candidates of the United Socialist Party and RPP are also winless. Two women candidates of Congress are still in the race.
