Nov 26,Kathmandu: Suryaman Tamang (Dong), member of the Politburo of the ruling coalition party CPN-Maoist Center, has won in the House of Representatives of Kavrepalanchok-1 district. Dong was elected after defeating Resam Bahadur Lama, a central member of CPN-UML, by a margin of 3,928 votes.

According to the election officer's office, Dong received 34 thousand 512 votes while UML's Lama received 30 thousand 548 votes. Similarly, Basunarayan Shrestha of Rashtriya Swatantra Party got eight thousand 697 votes, Purna Bahadur Bishwakarma of Rashtriya Prajatantra Party got one thousand 853 votes, Ganesh Kumar Kapali of Nepal Communist Party (Marxist Leninist) got one thousand 127 votes, Dhan Bahadur Tamang of Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal got 350 votes, Purna Singh Tamang of Nemkipa got 94 votes. Votes, Prakash Lama of Democratic Samajwadi Party Nepal got 46 votes.

Similarly Prashant KC (Timalsina) of Communist Party of Nepal Maoist Samajwadi got 101 votes, Govindraj Giri of RPP Nepal got 85 votes, Kamal Bahadur Lama (Tamang) of Mongolian National Organization got 357 votes, Jogman Lama of Change of Nepal Communist Party got 278 votes.

Similarly, independent candidates Jeet Bahadur Moktan got 184 votes, Madhav Prasad Kandel got 33 votes, Rukmini Shrestha got 483 votes, Gyanendra Kumar Tamang got 239 votes and Rajan Ghorasaine got 59 votes. Chief Electoral Officer Mohanraj Bhattarai informed that the work of direct counting of votes in the representative house 1 and 2 of the district and the provincial assembly has been completed and after the political parties send their representatives, the proportional counting will be started. It has been prepared to start the counting of votes on the proportional side from Saturday itself.
