Nov 27, Kathmandu: The number of members of the provincial assembly will reach the number of members of the ruling coalition in the far western province.
The results of 30 out of 32 direct constituencies of the 53-member Sudurpaschim Assembly have been announced. So far, the coalition parties have won 20 direct seats out of the 27 provincial assembly members required to form the government.
Proportionally, Nepali Congress is expected to get at least seven and CPN (Maoist Center) three provincial assembly members. In the previous provincial assembly, the Nepali Congress got eight proportional seats and the Maoist four.
According to the results of 30 direct regions, the ruling coalition Nepali Congress has won 11 seats, CPN (Maoist Center) eight, and CPN (Unified Socialist) two seats. Two areas of Bajura have not yet been counted. A polling station voted on Saturday. Counting is expected after the polls are over.
If the federal government is not formed by the current coalition and its influence in the province, all parties except the Nepali Congress, CPN (Unified Maoist), CPN (UML), Civil Liberation Party, and CPN (Unified Socialist) will have to come together to form the Far West Province government. Directly, CPN (Unified Maoist) won eight, CPN (UML) three, Civil Liberties Party five, and CPN (Unified Socialist) two.
If these parties combine, it will directly reach 18 seats. It seems that parties other than the Nepali Congress will be able to form a government with proportional seats. In 2074, the CPN (UML) which got eight seats proportionally, is expected to get seven seats. It is believed that CPN (Maoist Centre), which got four seats last time, will get three seats this time.
