Rice Production Increased In Kanchanpur

Dec 5, Kathamndu: There has been an increase in paddy production in Kanchanpur this year.

According to Krishi Gyan Kendra Kanchanpur, the productivity of paddy has increased by 1.37 this year compared to last year. Haridatta Joshi, information officer of Krishi Gyan Kendra Kanchanpur, said that this year's rice production in Kanchanpur is 3.92 per hectare. According to him, 190 thousand 104 metric tons of paddy have been produced in Kanchanpur this year.

Last year, the production of paddy in Kanchanpur was 2.55 metric tons per hectare. In the district, 48,600 hectares are under paddy cultivation. According to information officer Joshi, it is estimated that 86 thousand metric tons of rice will be saved in Kanchanpur which is produced here.

Farmers say that if farmers get chemical fertilizers on time, rice production can increase further. Bishnu Joshi of Bhimdatta Municipality-15 said that the productivity of paddy and wheat will increase if the government provides fertilizers on time. The two districts of Terai, Kanchanpur, and Kailali, are considered as distant food reserves.
