Jan 02, Kathmandu- After defeating Tribhuvan Army Club 3-1, Sankata Club continues in Pokhara for the 22nd Aaha! Rara has entered the semi-finals of the Gold Cup. Sankata directly played in the quarter-finals, and will now play against the former winners of the Armed Police Force, APF Club, to enter the finals.
Messouke Oloumou, Suraj Jeu Thakuri, and Stephan Samir Winong scored goals to give Sankata victory in the match held at Pokhara Stadium. The Army took the lead in the game. In the 17th minute of the game, Nawayug Shrestha scored a penalty and gave the Army the lead.
However, in the 36th minute, Oloumou scored and brought Sankata back into the game. Suraj gave Sankata a 2-1 lead in the 74th minute. Similarly, after Winong scored in the injury time of the game, Sankata secured a 3-1 victory.
Sankata will now play against APF on 20th of January to enter the final. Earlier, APF secured their place in the semi-finals by defeating Dharan Football Club 2-0.
The winner of the competition will get a prize of Rs 12 lakh and the runner-up will get Rs 6 lakh. Similarly, the top scorer of the tournament will receive Rs 25,000, while the 'Man of the Match' of each match will receive Rs 8,000.
The final match of the competition will be held on the 7th of January.
