Rabindra Mishra Hold Talks With Former King Gyanendra Shah

Jan 5, Kathmandu: Rashtriya Prajatantra Party Senior Vice President Ravindra Mishra has met former King Gyanendra Shah. He has mentioned on his Facebook that he had a one-and-a-half-hour-long conversation with former Raja Shah on Thursday. He mentioned earlier that he met Gyanendra Shah in 1951 AD when he was still a journalist.

He wrote, "In an hour and a half long meeting with King Gyanendra, who had faced unimaginable adversity, I was impressed by his usual decency, gentleness, understanding and deep concern for the country." The conclusion is that monarchy is inevitable in Nepal amid growing geopolitical and internal sensitivities.

In the one-and-a-half-hour-long meeting with King Gyanendra, who had experienced a remarkable level of adversity, I was impressed by his usual decency, gentleness, understanding, and deep concern for the country. The conclusion is that monarchy is inevitable in Nepal amid growing geopolitical and internal sensitivities.

I never said that there was no mistake on the part of the king. There is no king in the world who does not make one kind of mistake or the other. Mature politicians decide to keep or remove institutions of historical importance only after evaluating the benefits and harms in the overall interest of the country.

But self-centered and immature Nepali politicians threw away the 240-year-old institution without thinking about the country's far-reaching benefits/disadvantages to seek personal revenge on the king. That too went against the 12-point agreement which was said to remove only part of the 'absolutism' of the monarchy.

The first meeting of the restored parliament held on 16 April 2006 went against the decision that the eldest daughter could also inherit the throne to continue the monarchy in accordance with the agreement with the king. And by losing the election and allowing Krishna Prasad Sitaula, who is not a representative of the people, to put the republic proposal on the floor in the Constituent Assembly.

A king who had rectified his wrongs through the restoration of parliament was thus deposed by conspiracy, foreign influence, manipulation/deception. After that dozens of native and foreign kings were born. Cursed Prithvi Narayan Shah and started garlanding Marx and Mao.

Most of the current politicians do not care about Nepal, which is about to fall into the grip of international geopolitics, the growing ethnic and religious sensitivities within Nepal, and all the institutions of Nepal, which are completely corrupted by politics, except for the Nepali Army.

In a weak country like Nepal that can turn into a 'failed state' at any moment, if we do not have an organization that can play a role in the crisis, then it cannot be found after being caught in the crisis. It will be too late.

I met him twice in 1951 when I was a journalist and Raja was 'Raja'. This is the next meeting. Looking at the long life of the king and the interests of the country, I hope that all parties agree to the restoration of the monarchy as soon as possible! This will be in the long-term interest not only of Nepal but also of South Asia.
