Jan 22, Kathmandu- The Belkotgadhi Municipality of Nuwakot has announced to give ten lakh rupees as an incentive to the school that gets the best results in class 10 (SEE).
Mayor Jagat Bahadur Gurung informed that the amount is going to be given as an incentive to the schools that get the best result in SEE based on the standards set by the Municipality recently introduced by the 'Educational Reform Program'. He said that through the program brought by the local level for the overall development of education, it is believed that the school will increase the number of students and help to make the students skilled.
"The 'Educational Reform Program' introduced for the improvement of public schools in the city has created different standards for basic and secondary schools", he said, "Based on the index in the standard, cash prizes will be given to the best schools and awards to the teachers".
He said that it is through education that the health sector can be improved, skills and abilities can be enhanced and employment can be created. At present, 54 community schools including 19 secondary schools are operating within Belkotgarhi city.
