Two Youths Of Janakpur Been Kidnapped And Killed, Five Arrested

Jan 22, Kathmandu- Five people have been arrested by the police for the kidnapping and murder of two youths from Janakpurdham while they were visiting Bihar in India.

Indian police found the bodies of 21-year-old Rohit Shah of Janakpurdham sub-metropolitan city-8 and 22-year-old Bishnu Shah of Ward No. 13, who had been out of contact for 13 days, buried in the soil at 2:30 am on Sunday. Superintendent of Police of District Police Office Dhanusha Bishwaraj Khatiwada informed that the bodies of Rohit and Bishnu were found by the Indian police after they were kidnapped and strangled with a rope after not paying the ransom.

Rohit and Bishnu were in trouble while visiting India on the 11th of January. After that, the kidnappers demanded 1 million rupees from the families of both of them. The family gave verbal information to the police about it on January 13. District Police Office Dhanusha spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Pradeep Bahadur Chhetri said that after the family of the abducted youth gave verbal information to the police, in coordination with the Indian police, the bodies of Rohit and Bishnu were found buried in the soil in the Parsa police station area of Sitamarhi district of India.

Rohit was abducted along with Vishnu when he went to the house of a relative living in Parihar in Sitamarhi district of India. The kidnapper called the family of the deceased Vishnu on his mobile phone and informed the Dhanusha police about the demand for ransom. After that, a team including a police inspector from the Madhesh Police Office was deployed to the incident area under the command of the Deputy Superintendent of Police of the District Police Office to coordinate with the police in the border area.

The recovered body has been taken to Sadar Hospital in Sitamarhi, Bihar state of India for post-mortem. Also, relatives of the deceased have reached the place and identified the body. Meanwhile, during the investigation of kidnapping and murder, the Indian police detained three people, and the Nepalese police detained two people. District Police Office Dhanusha has informed that five people have been arrested and further investigation is underway for their involvement in the incident. District Police Office Dhanusha informed that Nepal Police arrested Kisan Kumar Pandit aged 24 and Mukesh Paswan aged 24 from Mahottari District Manara Shiswa Ward No.2.
