Nepali Nursing Assistant Arrested For Abuse of Elderly Patients In Australia

Jan 31, Kathmandu: A Nepalese nurse was arrested in Australia on suspicion of violent behavior toward a patient.

According to 9News Sydney, Ashmita Pandey, a Nepali nurse was arrested on a charge of assaulting a patient. Pandey was arrested after a colleague reported to the hospital administration that she had beaten an elderly patient.

It is possible that she will be sentenced to prison for assault. Pandey, who reached in Australia on a work visa, was employed at Estia Health in Epping.

Joan Murray,(95 years old) a dementia patient was one of her victims. “It’s quite confronting to receive a phone call informing you that someone you’ve placed in care has been mistreated in such a way,” her daughter said.
