Jan 31, Kathmandu: A review petition has been filed in the Supreme Court against the Patan High Court order to release cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane on bail.

Lamichhane, who is also the former captain of the Nepali team, was in custody pending trial on charges of raping a minor. However, Patan High Court ordered to release him on a bond of 2 million.

District Court Kathmandu had ordered to keep him in custody pending trial. However, reversing that order, the High Court ordered to release him on bail. According to the said order, a petition has been filed demanding a review of the said order to release Sandeep, who was released on bail.
