Feb 1, Kathmandu: Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal who is also the Prime Minister is in trouble due to the latest political developments and is in serious discussion within the 'Prachanda' party.
Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rashtriya Swatantra Party, who stepped down from the post of Home Minister due to the citizenship case warned that he should return to the Home Ministry or else his party will leave the government. The Maoist center and Prime Minister Prachanda are not in favor of making Rabi the home minister because of the ongoing dispute over his passport, while UML president Oli is in favor of making Ravi the home minister again as per the agreement.
Similarly, Prime Minister Prachanda is confused because UML has taken the stand that it should get the presidency. Maoist Chairman Prachanda is in favor of making an acceptable person President with the consent of Congress as well. The Chairman of the Maoist Center and Prime Minister Prachanda are in close discussion within the party to reach a decision on this matter.
Meanwhile, today he is discussing with the party's Senior Vice President Deputy Prime Minister, Physical Infrastructure Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha, and General Secretary Dev Gurung. Sources informed me that the discussion between them will now be at 11 am. Due to recent political developments, the Maoist Center has postponed the Standing Committee meeting scheduled for today.
