Feb 4, Kathmandu: Rastriya Swatantra Party(RSP) has called an emergency meeting of the Central Committee and the Parliamentary Party.
A central member informed me that an emergency meeting was called at 8 pm on Saturday. A joint meeting of the Central Committee and the Parliamentary Party is currently holding a meeting at the party headquarters in Basundhara.
According to the agreement reached during the formation of the government, RSP has demanded that it should get the Ministry of Home Affairs. He has warned that he will leave the government if he does not get the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Earlier, the meeting of the Central Committee and the Parliamentary Party was held on Thursday. They had decided to give the Prime Minister 2 days to fulfill the demand. The meeting was called on Saturday after the 2-day time given to the Prime Minister was over.
According to Baluwatar sources, the PM has proposed to the RSP to take over the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure instead of the Ministry of Home Affairs. While RSP chairman Rabi Lamichhane is taking the stand of the Home Ministry, the PM is not positive to return him to the House.
President UML party KP Oli is in favor of Rabi. An emergency meeting has been called to take a decision on the PM's new proposal as informed by a RSP leader.
