It is mentioned in the National Curriculum-2076 that curricula from 1 to 10 can be implemented by including local content. Kalimati rural municipality chairman Dan Bahadur Khatri said that a local curriculum has been created to implement the present from 1st to 8th grade.

According to him, there are 52 community schools in Kalimati Rural Municipality. About 4 thousand students are studying at the basic level.

According to him, the local curriculum will inform all basic school children about local culture, customs, tourist places, geographical structure, biological diversity, etc. He said that the role of the local curriculum is also important in the preservation of local heritage.

The municipality has spent about 10 lakh rupees on the construction of the course. About 1 million has been spent from various donor agencies. Kamal Sharma, a teacher at Nepal National Basic School, said that a local curriculum is necessary because students cannot learn about the activities, traditions, and culture of their own villages.

By reading only textbooks created at the central level. According to Bharat Chand, head of the education branch of the rural municipality, the local curriculum will be of 100 full marks. "When the children are more attracted to outside topics, they started to forget their culture, customs, language, and costumes," he said.
