Demonstration By Students Of Chakrabarti Law College Against Fee Hike

Feb 09, Kathmandu- Students of Chakrabarti Law College in Kathmandu's Bijuli Bazar have demonstrated against the increase in tuition fees.

Today, they staged a protest at Maitighar in Kathmandu saying that they were not getting any facilities even though they were charging unfairly high fees to the students. The students participating in the demonstration displayed placards that read, "Students cannot be oppressed, students cannot be robbed".

According to the students, after the college took 10 lakh 70 thousand fees, the college threatened to expel them when they demanded to provide service facilities accordingly or to reduce the fees. They have alleged that out of the 300 students studying at Chakrabarti Law College, 30 students are supposed to be given scholarships, but the college is teaching only 10 students on scholarship and the college is eating the fees of 20 students. Earlier, the students of the said college had protested against the increase in tuition fees.
