With the naming of Koshi province, the supporters of identity have closed transport, educational and industrial facilities in various districts of the province today. According to the Biratnagar-based Koshi State Police Office, there has been a partial impact on traffic in the hilly areas of the state. The police have arrested 6 people from Jhapa who vandalized the closure.
In Morang, the effect of the closure is not visible in the morning, the office said. In Morang's Belbari, Pathri area, some people appeared on the streets to demand closure, but the situation is normal. Bhupal KC, a transport businessman from Biratnagar, said that public transport does not run from Biratnagar to the east and to the North Pahari district.
According to him, the effect of the shutdown was in the hilly areas from East Itahari and North Dharan. However, he said, there is no hindrance in westbound traffic from Biratnagar for long distances. According to KC, the vehicles going to Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Birgunj have left since morning. Educational institutions in Morang have also been partially closed due to the shutdown. President of Hisan Morang, Amit Dhakal informed us that the internal examination of the college is being conducted in Biratnagar.
According to Dhakal, there is a partial effect of the bandh within the metropolitan city. Markets, city safaris, and motorcycles within the metropolis are running normally. Expressing displeasure against the naming of Koshi Province, the Federal Limbuwan Party, Kirat Rai Yayokhya, Kirat Yakthum Chumlung, and other organizations have called for a shutdown in the province.
