Dowry And Battering Case: Neha Chaudhary's Father-In-Law Consign Jailed

Mar 15, Kathmandu Neha Chaudhary's father-in-law Ram Pravesh Chaudhary of Ramgopalpur Municipality-5 of Mahottari, has been sent to judicial custody.

Chaudhary who was arrested on the charge of demanding dowry repeatedly after his son's marriage was sent to jail on Tuesday by the district court's Mahottari. Judge Baburam Subedi's bench sent him to jail. Chaudhary who was arrested last Sunday was produced in court on Tuesday.

Advocate Rinkukumari Yadav and public prosecutor Manoj Kumar Gupta argued on behalf of the complainant in the custody hearing on Tuesday. Earlier, Neha's husband Pankaj Chaudhary has also been jailed by the court for taking dowry. According to social tradition, Neha and Pankaj Choudhary got married on March 9, 2022 AD.  During the marriage, Pankaj's family also took a dowry of more than 1 crore.

But later Neha is accused of pressurizing her to build a house in Kathmandu and when she refused, she demanded more dowry by torturing her. After the relationship broke down, Pankaj initially filed a divorce case. After that, Neha filed cases of forgery, domestic violence, dowry, mana chamal, and partial cases against her husband Pankaj, father-in-law Rampravesh, and four other family members.
